My specialty is non-specialization. If you feel you are not easily contained in a box or identified with a label, we might work well together.

Your situation is unique and involves the confluence of multiple factors, only some of which are diagnosable according to the systems we use as clinicians. From my perspective, a diagnosis can help get you the care that you need, but it doesn’t define you.

If and when we work together, we will focus on listening to the whole of what you bring to our sessions, and we will work on and within our relationship as our approach to the unique situation in which you find yourself.

Like you, I am complex, shaped by the whole of my lifeworld, and changing from moment to moment. I am neither a tool made for a specific purpose nor an exchangeable, generic intervention delivery system. Like you, I am aware of some things about myself and other aspects remain unknown to me.

We cannot predict exactly what will happen in our work together. The space of our confluence will create a new, previously non-existent reality, one that hasn’t already been figured out and categorized. In my view, this is, in large part, what makes therapy with another person full of powerful potential.

All of that said, we need to find each other if we’re going to work together. Search engines and referrals and keywords are never all-inclusive—and they can’t encompass the unknown—but they can serve as helpful signposts on your way toward doing better.

To that end: I work with adults ages 18-100 who come to therapy due to concerns includingand not limited toanxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, grief, complex trauma, suicidal ideation, chronic pain and chronic illness, LGBTQIA+ related issues, issues related to spirituality, mood imbalances and neurodivergence.

In the “thoughts” section of this site I speak from my personal experience about a few of these conditions.
